FAQ's
Q:What is laser therapy?
A: Laser therapy is an Acupuncture based treatment that originated in Europe and Canada over 25 years ago.
Q:Why laser therapy?
A:Your success is measured immediately. Unlike prescription medications, there is no need to continue smoking to help your body adjust to the ill effects of drug therapy. Laser Therapy is instantaneous. Your treatment date is your quit date!
Additionally, the therapy you receive at Laser Therapy South, will not only alleviate your nicotine addiction, but will also address issues regarding weight gain and stress management. Most importantly, the cost of laser therapy is significantly less, much more effective, and much safer than prescription drugs and nicotine replacement therapies.
Q: How does it work?
A: The laser releases endorphins in the body. Endorphins are the "feel good" chemicals that we naturally have. The treatment removes the physical desire to smoke and a client does not experience cravings for nicotine or go through any physical withdrawal symptoms. Counseling is provided in conjunction with the treatment to help people break the habitual part of the addiction.
Q: Does it hurt?
A: Not at all. The treatment is completely painless and very relaxing. The laser is a cold or "therapeutic" laser, and does not produce heat or cut tissue. Most clients report a feeling similar to having a massage after the treatment.
Q: Where is the laser applied?
A: The laser is applied to external points of the ears, nose, and hands.
Q: How long does it take?
A: The whole visit is one hour from start to finish, with the laser portion only being about 20 minutes.
Q: Is it safe?
A: Yes. There are no known side effects or contraindications for laser
therapy. If a woman is pregnant, we do however, ask that she get permission from her doctor.
Q: Do I need to do anything after the treatment?
A: Yes. You need to drink plenty of water for the first few days to flush and detox the body. Caffeine also needs to be reduced for a period aswell.
